Snow Day

Hope you had a nice snow day--and hope you enjoyed the day of grace (plus the weekend) if you were not finished with your short story. Make sure your short story is finished and ready to turn in on Monday (and make sure that any late work is turned in), so we can do some fun things during the last full week before Christmas break!

Welcome to 2008

Greetings; welcome to the updated blog. Right now we are busy in the reading book; we just finished reading "Flowers for Algernon" and we are working on notes for our short stories. I hope you liked "Flowers for Algernon"--I think it is a great story, although (as several of you pointed out) it's very sad. Consider, though, Charlie's changed relationship with Joe and Frank: maybe they learned something from this.

Do you think the ultimate outcome of the experiment was good or bad? If you had been Charlie Gordon, do you think you would have wanted to participate in it? Imagine what it would mean to travel between two such different worlds as Charlie did, and to see yourself in both.
